Martin Luther King
The great man's strength was that he appealed, like Mandela, to all. That's why he was so dangerous and that's why some frightened fools killed him. I think of him often, not just on his birthday.

Martin Luther King
MLK has been on many of our minds today. What made him so remarkable as an American and a human being is what he had in common with the great Mandela. This man had the ability to think way beyond a member of an individual interest group. I have always believed the reason that he was killed was because the danger posed by this great American was his ability to pull people of all races, all creeds, together in such a way that the establishment trembled when they realized the power of his message. A lot of people have tried to figure out the Kennedy conspiracy but this is a certainty: this man, Martin Luther King, was killed by persons unknown. There are a few people who have ideas that are so powerful that the system just cannot tolerate their continuance on this earth. There isn't much more to say. I saw him once, on the street on Fire Island. We passed. He had a presence about him that marked him as a great man. They may have killed his body but he is in the hearts of many people on this day. In that way, he lives on.
